Rules
For example,
Астана Алматыға қарағанда суығырақ.=Astana is colder than Almaty.
Мына кітап анадан қарағанда қызығырақ.=This book is more interesting than that one.
- Comparative form of adjectives is made by adding up one of the endings ырақ/ірек/рақ/рек/лау/леу/дау/деу/тау/теу to the root-word.
- Superlative form of adjective is made with the help of a word eң before a root-word.
- One can choose between ірек/деу, ырақ/дау, рек/леу, рақ/лау, тау/ырақ, тек/ірек depending on harmony of sounds.
- If a root-word ends with an unvoiced consonant к/қ/п and it has soft vowel, we pick ірек ending, and an unvoiced consonant will change to voiced consonant г/ғ/б accordingly.
- If a root-word ends with an unvoiced consonant к/қ/п and it has hard vowel, we pick ырақ ending, and an unvoiced consonant will change to voiced consonant г/ғ/б accordingly.
- We use the word қарағанда to say than. It requires previous word to be in elative/ablative case (дан/ден/тан/тен).
For example,
Астана Алматыға қарағанда суығырақ.=Astana is colder than Almaty.
Мына кітап анадан қарағанда қызығырақ.=This book is more interesting than that one.
- We use word ең to make superlative form.
