To say try, check, test in Kazakh we use the construction ып/іп/п көру.
For example,
Мен айтып көрейін.=Let me try to say that.
Тамақтың тұзын татып көресің бе?=Would you check the salt level (about food).
Мына киімді киіп көрсем бола ма?=Can I try this cloth on?
Ол теннис үйреніп көріп жүр.=She is trying to learn tennis.
Note!
In dictionaries the word try is translated as тырысу. Тырысу means try to do something with effort, whereas ып/іп/п көру means to test, to give something a try, to check.

Exercise 2. Make up your own 5 sentences with ып/іп/п көру construction. Try to make up sentences in in болымды (positive), болымсыз (negative) and сұраулы (interrogative) forms in different tenses. You may make up sentences with want to try and can try to practise previous themes. Then read your examples to class to discuss your ideas with each other.
